For nearly 20 years, Piet de Wit has relied on processing equipment from HiTec, now OctoCore, as the company has continued to develop and expand its production.
Piet de Wit is a Dutch food producer supplying foodservice, retail and the wider food industry. Its product range is centred around meat and vegetarian products, including frikadellen, hamburgers and falafel. The company also produces ingredients and components for further processing, such as pizza toppings, soup meatballs and fillings for bakery products.
With different products, recipes and customer requirements moving through production, flexibility and consistent quality are essential. As demand has grown, Piet de Wit has expanded its capabilities, most recently with a new factory and an additional frying and cooking line.
Three Generations of Frying Lines
The partnership began with the installation of the first frying line approximately 20 years ago. A second line followed around ten years later, and Piet de Wit has now invested in a third, newly installed line.
Today, the company operates three separate processing lines, each combining a fryer and Spiral Oven. Every investment has added production capacity while building on process knowledge already established within the factory.
Frying and Cooking in One Process
Combining frying with spiral oven cooking provides flexibility throughout the thermal process. Frying supports the desired surface appearance and flavour, while the Spiral Oven completes the cooking process under controlled conditions.
The combination helps create consistent product quality, an appetising exterior and a juicy bite. These qualities support Piet de Wit in meeting customer expectations as demand continues to grow.
The latest line forms part of the expanded production setup in the company’s new factory, providing additional capacity for both current requirements and future growth.
Supporting Continued Growth
The new installation marks another step in a collaboration spanning almost two decades. As Piet de Wit’s production needs have evolved, the partnership has continued to provide processing lines suited to its products and ambitions.
For OctoCore, the project demonstrates the value of staying close to the customer over time and providing reliable processing lines built for long-term use.
